is collecting used books for their ANNUAL BOOK
SALE next February, donations may be dropped off at the Nancy Carol
Roberts Library in Brenham. They are accepting books, DVD's, CD'S and
tapes.
2008 AUGUST/SEPTEMBER: DO WELL, BE WELL with DIABETES! an educational program for people with type 2 diabetes. The five week series will be conducted by area physicians and health and nutrition professionals...all classes will be conducted on Mondays at 6:30pm at the Austin County Courthouse in the basement meeting room...the cost for the program is $15.00 per person and refreshments will be served...care givers of type 2 diabetes individuals are encouraged to participate too. Dates: August 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th and September 8th. 2008 AUGUST 23: HOSPICE BRAZOS VALLEY - BRENHAM invites you to put on your poodle skirt and bobbie socks, or roll up your sleeves on your white t-shirt and cruise back to the 50's for the 3rd annual HOSPICE SOIREE. HBV is rockin' & rollin' along to provide end-of-life care to those who are facing a life-limiting illness, grief or loss. 2008 AUGUST 31: IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH BAZAAR & HOMECOMING at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1390 Hwy. 90 West in Sealy, barbecue lunch served starting at 10:30am, Mexican food will also be available, plates to go and meat by the pound will also be sold, Ray Krenek on the dulcimer will provide music inside the hall and Krenek's and The Texas Sound will provide music under the pavilion before and after the Live Auction, there will also be rock climbing wall, moon walk, petting zoo, kiddie rides and games, plant stand, county store, grocery stand, fruit cocktail stand, snow cone and cake walk.
2008 SEPTEMBER 5: the BRENHAM PUBLIC SCHOOLS will celebrate its 133rd ANNIVERSARY AS THE OLDEST PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT IN THE STATE, activities will be held on each campus, plus a community luncheon in the Banquet Room of the Blinn College student center from 11:30am - 1pm. One of the highlights of the luncheon will be the introduction of several Distinguished Alumni from the district.

1200 S. Market, old Brenham Elementary School campus. Every Wednesday is a 1/2 price sale on everything in the shop which features the
children's corner, women's boutique, men's clothing, and books, glassware,
linens, patterns, fabric and many more items. WCHLA's Senior Activity

program is in need of donated pet food. To donate dog/cat food for the

ESCORT PROGRAM

BRANCH on Loop 577 has daily

Alamo Center, has large items such as furniture, appliances and
electronics. The ALAMO CENTER
is located across from the bus station
at E. Alamo & Clinton. Hours for both locations are Monday - Friday,
10:00 am - 6:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Faith Mission...serving
Washington and surrounding counties with faith-based counseling, emergency food,
shelter and medical needs for the temporarily displaced and unfortunate
WASHINGTON COUNTY HEALTHY LIVING ASSOC. senior center is located at the old Brenham Elementary School campus, 1200 South Market in Brenham, the hours are 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Lunch is served every week day, free for those 60 and over, donations appreciated, make lunch reservations at least 1 day ahead by calling 836.6552 or 830.0612. The center also services all homebound seniors of Washington County through a home delivery lunch program, call the center for details.
